Specimen Type: Serum SST

Collection Container/Type

Preferred: Serum gel

Submission Container/Tube: Serum gel (do not aliquot, send in original SST tube)

Collection Instructions: 

1. Allow blood to clot for 30 minutes.
2. Serum gel tube must be centrifuged within 1 hour of draw time.  Centrifuge with stopped in place and ensure the gel barrier separates the serum and cells.
3. Keep specimen anaerobic, do not aliquot.

Additional Information: Specimen cannot be shared with other testing.
