Special Instructions

Patient should be coumadin-free for 72 hours and haprain-free for 24 hours.
Colllect sample in a light blue sodium citrate dihydrate (3.2%) tube. Draw with a discard tube prior to collection of sample.  Proper fill volume is critical to accuracy of test. Centrifuge capped whole blood sample to prepare platelet poor plasma. Aliquot the platelet poor plasma from the collection sample and transfer plasma to a polypropylene test tube. Freeze immediately at -20 degC or colder.
